Prasco · Alessandria · Ten years in the making

The Story

What began, ten years ago, as a crumbling farmhouse in the hills above Prasco became, in time, a place of deliberate quiet. Not a renovation — a conversation. Between old stone and new light, between the Monferrato hills and the people who chose to listen to them.

La Casa di Aldo was returned to its bones and rebuilt by hand, with local craftsmen and patient seasons. What follows is that story, told in the order it happened.

The farmhouse as we found it, reclaimed by the woods
Years of silence, overgrown
Old stone and rubble
Before the first day of work
Cutting the access road into the hill
Clearing the ground
The shell begins to rise
Walls, course by course
Stone and scaffolding
Setting the roof
The facade takes shape
Stone, rebuilt by hand
Raw interior, the structure
Chestnut beams overhead
Framing the rooms
First light through the openings
Lime plaster, drying
Laying the oak floors
The pergola, the terrace
The land that shaped it all
Before & after

The house, today

The facade, finished
The living room
The kitchen
The terrace over the valley
The pool at golden hour
La Casa di Aldo, on its hill
